The above video was shot October 9, 2014.  I uploaded it the day after but did not publish it or write a follow up article because the remainder of the year was consumed by life and other, more private activism not related to Fluoridation.

However I thought it would be fitting to release it now, in lieu of a recent flurry of news reports regarding the brand new study published by the University of Kent on public water fluoridation.  If you haven’t seen – you should – the study looked at public water fluoridation as a medical intervention and its suggestively high correlation to the presence of thyroid disorders in the population.   Honestly, the study would not be so damning if we were not retrospectively evaluating the epidemiological facts 60 years AFTER Oscar Ewing, Rockefellers, ALCOA, Duke, Edward Bernays and the corporate US “PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE” did brainwash the public into loving their slow death via the sink tap.

This study consequently got MASSIVE press coverage, just see for yourself:

In my opinion, a water shed moment – but we have had them before & the City Council stupidly repeats, as Councilman Steve Schewel does in the video – that public water fluoridation is “safe and effective.”  This is despite the fact that the city has made no visceral effort to have their drugs approved by the FDA, and it looks like the FDA continue to evade evaluating Fluoride for its purported safety and effectiveness.

The publication of the study & a curious note from my Uncle compelled me to pen a letter to City Council about this, and also reminding them of this epic October 9th appearance, which you can read at the conclusion of this update.

Since we have already filed assault charges at the Durham Police Department and nothing was done, my intention here is to simply demonstrate how much the City Council has been wantonly negligent in the face of the blatantly obvious scientific dissent to their position.  Hopefully one day, this evidence can be used to bring them to justice, preferably by indictment and eventual arrest.

Happy New Year!

It has been almost four months since I last appeared before you.

If you will remember I demanded last October 9 during a council work session that the Durham County Board of Health kindly submit a formal request to the Federal Drug Administration to test/approve Hydrofluorosilicic acid for being “safe and effective” when orally ingested for the purpose of preventing tooth decay.

This request was made pursuant my understanding of the entities who have jurisdiction to regulate the use and distribution of medicinally intended substances, such as hydrofluorosilicic acid is being applied in this case.  My intention was merely to establish that if the City of Durham collectively endorses the idea of medicating their public water supply with fluoride in practice (they do), that they should at least follow the minimum proper federal laws to have the drugs approved as being safe and effective.

Of course – you very well know that I never bought into the US Health Service & academic Balogna that says drinking fluoride is safe and effective.  I know you know! Because you are apparently treating my October appearance as a “rhetorical request,” as evidenced by the total lack of follow up on my visit last year.

If I am wrong and you have submitted a request to the FDA then I will be the most pleased to hear that you have, and admit I was wrong.  But if that is the case then I would like to know when they expect to begin testing?

In the meantime Council, you might want to start taking this issue seriously because the only reason I am writing you today is due to a very recent publication in the London Telegraph which highlights a brand new study from the University of Kent on public water Fluoridation, that completely damns it!

Fluoride in drinking water may trigger depression and weight gain, warn scientists

as a Public Health Intervention

Who do you think is liable if this turns out to be true Council?? Who do you think the people will blame? Which side of the fence do you honestly believe is riskier to be on?  Call me selfish but if I were you guys, I would be following the precautionary principle on this one, if for no other reason than to save my own sorry ass!

Precautionary Principle Defined

But honestly Council this damning new study is not really why I’m sharing it with you. You have already proven yourselves in battle to be impervious to even the most mainstream academic and widely accepted news sources of information that discredit the pro fluoride position. Why reverse course and do the right thing now?

It’s not like I haven’t already shared with you numerous legitimate scientific publications which should have resulted in the cessation of water fluoridation, at least since 2011.

It’s not like WTVD didn’t already daftly expose your scam in 2012 with their 7.5 minute report….

It’s not like a Deputy Sheriff did not already escort me out of the subsequent “public health board meeting” which later resulted in Durham’s re-committal to the policy of public water fluoridation….

It was something else…

A curious thing; the telegraph article was shared by my Uncle in an e-mail to me, with the subject line “Vindication.”

He says to me, before sharing the link:

“Here’s more people trying to catch up to Corey.”

The article – which you must read, is one of volumes I have read and tried desperately during the last 3+ years to share with you and/or the public.

But let me be qualify something for you.  I am not “VINDICATED” when such an article appears in the news, and adds to the pile of others I have collected which reinforce my position. I already have more than enough!

I do not like it when scientists find new evidence to suggest drinking fluoride is poisonous.

I do not get any pleasure whatsoever from speaking to you, or feeling compelled to take time off of work so I can try and warn you of the damage you are doing to the population of Durham.

I do not enjoy the social weirdness that accompanies knowing what the government is up to.

I have already read enough of these articles to KNOW that what I’m talking about is correct, so there is no vindication in a reconfirmation of something I already know.  I will ONLY feel vindicated when you collectively start living up to your oath of office, and wake up to your own slavery to the more intimidating layers of your own system

…and most of all, when you decide to STOP FLUORIDATING THE WATER.

Yours Sincerely,

Corey Sturmer

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Association of vascular fluoride uptake with vascular calcification and Coronary Artery Disease

A January 2012 study published by the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System has linked Sodium Fluoride uptake with the hardening & calcification of major arteries, also known as Cardiovascular disease & the number one cause of death in the United States.

The study first appeared in the Nuclear Medicine Communications Journal, a “rapid communications journal publishing research and clinical work in all areas of nuclear medicine for an international readership,”  but these observations have not yet been picked up by the collective.  The research was performed by nuclear medicine physicians who retrospectively reviewed the imaging data and cardiovascular history of 61 patients who received whole-body sodium [F]fluoride PET/CT studies at their institution from 2009 to 2010. Fluoride uptake and calcification in major arteries, including coronary arteries, were analyzed by both visual assessment and standardized uptake value measurement.

In the introduction section it is interestingly noted that the phenomenon of hardening arteries & what risks that may pose to our health has been extensively studied, however Fluoride uptake & it’s clinical significance to coronary arteries has not yet been documented:

To predict and prevent any deadly cardiovascular events, extensive studies have been conducted to evaluate the risk of cardiovascular disease.  Over the past decade, many cardiovascular studies focused on the calcification process in atherosclerosis (hardening of arteries).  Calcification in atherosclerosis occurs through an active process that resembles bone formation and is controlled by complex enzymatic and cellular pathways.  Coronary artery calcification parallels atherosclerosis progress and is strongly and linearly correlated with fluorodeoxyglucose uptake in coronary arteries.  However, the clinical significance of fluoride uptake in coronoary arteries has not been documented.

The results of this study therefore have vast implications for our collectively becoming aware of one main contributing factor to the ongoing scourge heart disease, namely municipal water fluoridation.  This is especially true in consideration that 80% of Americans are since 1957 forcibly fluoridated  via their public drinking water & cardiovascular disease still remains the #1 cause of death in America (600,000/year).

Despite this study’s relative significance to the research produced by Harvard which concluded higher Fluoride uptake predictably lowers the Intelligence Quotient in humans, these specific conclusions have unfortunately not made it into mainstream news to the same degree. Although the full article admits more research should be conducted on the clinical significance of Fluoride uptake, this is the exact problem we face (lack of studies) nearly 60 years into the forced, highly systematic & ubiquitous fluoridation of our municipal water supplies!  One wonders the true extent of damage done if our scientists are only just now realizing the tragic link between Fluoride uptake & a disease that kills more Americans than one hundred and seventy  9/11s combined EACH YEAR

This blows a huge hole in the already horrendously flawed pro-fluoride argument which posits that drinking Fluoride only affects the teeth and does not have any health hazards to other organs of the body.  For fluoride fighters in the area, listen to me debunk local Public Health Terrorist Rebecca King once more, who ridiculously claims ingestion of fluoride is the best thing since sliced bread as it returns to the mouth in our saliva & continuously bathes our teeth in Fluoride-rich fluid! Such a bold faced & twisted manipulation of the facts is incredible in that it intrinsically admits Fluoride is penetrating all cells of the body- even the salivation glands.

So What were the results?

Patients

There were 58 male patients and three female patients. Detailed clinical histories and the presence of cardiovascular risk factors, such as hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, smoking history, obesity, and history of cardiovascular events, were obtained for all patients. The clinical characteristics of the patients are summarized in Table 1.

Table 1 Patients' Clinical CharacteristicsImaging and Statistical Analyses

sd_CTorthopedics_main_enCT and PET images were coregistered by the Philips Extended Brilliance workstation (Philips Healthcare). CT, PET, and fused PET/CT images were evaluated visually and semi-quantitatively simultaneously using the same workstation. All images were analyzed by two independent nuclear medicine physicians blinded to all patients’ clinical information. Inter-reader reproducibility was excellent and was evaluated using an intraclass correlation coefficient (0.89). Vascular calcification was identified as positive on CT images if the target was visually detectable with a greater than 130 Hounsfield units. CT-attenuated PET images were evaluated for fluoride uptake in major arteries. Background activity was based on the standardized uptake value (SUV) of the blood pool, which was calculated from the mean SUVs of three circular regions of interest (ROIs) placed in the left atrium, mid lumen of the aortic arch, and abdominal aorta at the level of the celiac trunk on axial images. The sizes of ROIs were 2cm in diameter for the left atrium and 1cm for the aortic arch and the abdominal aorta.

Results (Abbreviated, click link to view original article)

Patients’ age and reasons for sodium fluoride PET/CT imaging are summarized in Table 1.  Most patients were men with a median age of 66 years (27-91 years).  The majority of patients (69%) had more than one risk factor for coronary artery disease.

Arterial sodium Fluoride uptake and calcification

Arterial wall sodium fluoride uptake and calcification were evaluated in major arteries, including carotid arteries, the thoracic ascending (including aortic arch) aorta, the thoracic descending aorta, the abdominal aorta, femoral arteries, and major branches of coronary arteries. Iliac arteries were not evaluated because of frequently observed urinary and occasional bowel uptake in the pelvis, which interferes with the accurate assessment of iliac vessels. For coronary arteries, four major branches were evaluated. An example of fluoride uptake in femoral arteries is shown in Fig. 1. Orthogonal views of fluoride uptake in the aorta and coronary arteries are shown in Figs 2 and 3.
Figure1
Figure 2Figure3Relationship between coronary fluoride uptake and cardiovascular risk factors
The coronary arteries were also investigated for fluoride uptake. Four major branches of coronary arteries, including left main artery (LMA), left anterior descending (LAD), left circumflex (LCA), and right coronary arteriy (RCA) were evaluated. Fluoride uptake was more frequently observed in the LAD and LCAs.  A similar pattern was also identified in coronary artery calcification. In each individual coronary branch, calcification was more frequently observed than fluoride uptake (Table 2).  Table2
  • Among 10 patients who had significant three-vessel coronary calcifications, 80% demonstrated fluoride uptake in at least one coronary branch (data not shown).
  • Cardiovascular risk factors including hypertension, obesity, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, smoking history, and history of coronary artery disease were reviewed in all patients (Table 3).
  • The majority of the patients (69%) had more than one cardiovascular risk factor; however, neither the individual cardiovascular risk factor nor the number of risk factors was significantly correlated with coronary fluoride uptake (Table 3).
Table3
Nine patients had a history of cardiovascular events. Among them, eight demonstrated identifiable coronary fluoride uptake. There was significant correlation between coronary calcification and fluoride uptake in this group evaluated by Fisher’s exact test (Table 3). All nine patients also demonstrated coronary calcification on CT images. We also compared the SUVmax in coronary arteries between patients with and without a history of cardiovascular events. The average coronary SUV max in patients with a history of cardiovascular events was 1.70, significantly higher than 1.39 for patients without a history of cardiovascular events (P=0.029, two-tailed Student’s t-test). No correlation was observed between cardiovascular risk factors and fluoride uptake in other vascular territories (noncoronary).

Discussion Highlights

Vascular calcification, in particular coronary calcification, has been shown to predict vascular events [25–27].

In our study, fluoride uptake and CT calcification are significantly correlated in the same arterial territories, except in the abdominal aorta. This is because of the extremely high positive rate (97%, only one patient demonstrated negative uptake) for fluoride uptake in the abdominal aorta.

Fluoride uptake either overlaps with calcification or locates adjacent to the detectable calcium deposits, suggesting that fluoride uptake and detectable calcification represent different stages of the atherosclerotic process.

We found that fluoride uptake in coronary arteries is significantly correlated with a patient’s history of cardiovascular events, and the uptake value in patients with cardiovascular events was significantly higher than that in patients without cardiovascular events. These results further support the fact that higher fluoride uptake in coronary arteries indicates increased cardiovascular risk.

The combination of sodium [18F]fluoride PET and CT is a promising imaging modality that provides both metabolic and anatomic information in evaluating vascular calcification. However, large-scale studies are needed to evaluate the clinical significance of fluoride PET/CT for imaging atherosclerosis.

Conclusion

Our study demonstrates that vascular calcification and fluoride uptake are significantly correlated in the same arterial territory, although not necessarily overlapping in the same anatomic locations. An increased fluoride uptake in coronary arteries may be associated with an increased cardiovascular risk. Combined anatomic and metabolic imaging with sodium [18F]fluoride PET/CT offers a promising, noninvasive method to evaluate atherosclerosis.

My Raleigh Ideas – Stop Medicating the Public Water Supply

Medicated Water Supply

The citizens of Raleigh who pay municipal water bills spend more than $100,000 dollars per year on adding medication to the water supply.  The “medication” is called Hexafluorosilicic acid, commonly known as Fluoride and has been added to the water supply by majority vote since the 1950′s.

Since that time numerous studies have shown that even moderate levels of exposure to fluoride can lead to lower IQ (Intelligence Quotient), thyroid malfunction, brittle bones, early arthritis, dental fluorosis (white spotting of the teeth), and even cancer.

On July 24, 2012 Harvard released a study in the Federal Government Journal concluding Fluoride lowers IQ. (Source: Reuters) Choi et al write:

“The children in high fluoride areas had significantly lower IQ than those who lived in low fluoride areas,” write Choi et al.

Further, the Environmental Protection Agency says fluoride is a chemical “with substantial evidence of developmental neurotoxicity” and In 2011 the EPA reversed it’s longstanding claim that public water fluoridation was one of the public health breakthroughs in the 20th century. Then offering advise to municipalities to lower the base amount of fluoride added to their water. (Source)

Do yourself a favor and URGE the City to STOP fluoridating the public water supply!  The reasons are very clear:

  •  The City and citizens can save $100,000 per year by not having to purchase the chemical
  •  Citizens will no longer face the risk of suffering Fluoride toxicity, an ailment that can lead to numerous documented medical and neurological disorders
  •  Mothers who feed their baby’s formula will be able to use Tap water without fear of overexposing the children to fluoride
  •  The City can put that 100,000 dollars to something more healthy and beneficial to the population

Durham County is holding a hearing for citizens to air concerns about all matters having to do with the “Public Health.”  Here is the official public release.

Thursday, September 13 at 5:00pm in EDT at 414 E. Main Street, Durham, NC 27701

Since December 2011, I have been trying to convince the city council and members of the health department that Fluoride is a dangerous chemical, NOT a dental health benefit we should be thanking them for.  The movement has been slowly gaining steam all year and now we are reaching critical mass!

Tomorrow I will be attending the hearing to present evidence that Fluoride should be stopped IMMEDIATELY and I am happy to report that I will be joined by WTVD Channel 11 and their camera crew.  They will be there to capture footage specifically for a fall report on this very issue! So if you can, please join us to express your concern and demand a change in policy!

In addition to the announcement, I have included two clips from my past visits to the city council where NC Department of Health and Human Service’s own Kevin Buckholtz was brought forward to defend fluoridation of our public drinking water.   In his rebuttal, he actually admitted that

  1. Hydrofluosilicic acid can leach lead from piping systems and enter the bloodstream of those who drink the water – causing behavioral issues, learning disabilities, and negatively affecting IQ
  2. His own 11 year old daughter has mild dental fluorosis, the negative side effect to fluoridating our drinking water.

Even those who are supposed to be looking out for our best interest admit the negative side effects of Fluoridation – incredible!

SIGN THE PETITION TO END FLUORIDATION IN THE CITY OF DURHAM

PR Newswire

NEW YORK, July 24, 2012

NEW YORK, July 24, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Harvard University researchers’ review of fluoride/brain studies concludes “our results support the possibility of adverse effects of fluoride exposures on children’s neurodevelopment.” It was published online July 20 in Environmental Health Perspectives, a US National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences’ journal (1), reports the NYS Coalition Opposed to Fluoridation, Inc. (NYSCOF)

“The children in high fluoride areas had significantly lower IQ than those who lived in low fluoride areas,” write Choi et al.

Further, the EPA says fluoride is a chemical “with substantial evidence of developmental neurotoxicity.”

Fluoride (fluosilicic acid) is added to US water supplies at approximately 1 part per million attempting to reduce tooth decay.

Water was the only fluoride source in the studies reviewed and was based on high water fluoride levels. However, they point out research by Ding (2011) suggested that low water fluoride levels had significant negative associations with children’s intelligence.

Choi et al. write, “Although fluoride may cause neurotoxicity in animal models and acute fluoride poisoning causes neurotoxicity in adults, very little is known of its effects on children’s neurodevelopment. They recommend more brain/fluoride research on children and at individual-level doses.

“It’s senseless to keep subjecting our children to this ongoing fluoridation experiment to satisfy the political agenda of special-interest groups,” says attorney Paul Beeber, NYSCOF President.  “Even if fluoridation reduced cavities, is tooth health more important than brain health? It’s time to put politics aside and stop artificial fluoridation everywhere,” says Beeber.

After reviewing fluoride toxicological data, the NRC reported in 2006, “It’s apparent that fluorides have the ability to interfere with the functions of the brain.”

Choi’s team writes, “Fluoride readily crosses the placenta. Fluoride exposure to the developing brain, which is much more susceptible to injury caused by toxicants than is the mature brain, may possibly lead to damage of a permanent nature.”

Fluoride accumulates in the body. Even low doses are harmful to babies, the thyroid, kidney patients and heavy water-drinkers. There are even doubts about fluoridation’s effectiveness (2). New York City Legislation is pending to stop fluoridation. Many communities have already stopped.

Infant formula when mixed with fluoridated water delivers 100-200 times more fluoride than breastmilk. (3)
