Dear Readers,

Last month I was contacted by a fellow at the Emerging Leaders in Science and Society organization and was cordially invited to discuss the state of the public drinking water in the United States.

Justin Lana (LinkedIn) further elaborated over a series of emails that he had stumbled upon my anti-fluoride exploits and would value my input for a water quality related project that he is working on at ELISS.  You can read much more about this in our correspondence below.

What piqued my interest in participation and eventually lead to an hour long discussion is that Justin described the goalpost for the ELISS project being some sort of presentation to members of our water regulatory apparatus in Washington.    While I had no hope that this meeting would be any kind of silver bullet for the fluoride issue I felt Justin was open minded and could potentially influence others in this area. After some scheduling, I eventually agreed to meet Justin for lunch at a nearby Indian restaurant to candidly discuss the “current state” issues from my perspective.

For my own protection and journalistic discipline I will sometimes utilize recording devices when traveling or publicly discussing issues of national import, however do not always publish what is captured.  In this case, I felt compelled to admit after the fact that I had recorded almost our entire conversation without his knowledge and also requested publication rights.  I felt the content of the discussion was valuable enough to deserve it’s own article and what you see here is the result.

While initially hesitant, Justin revisited our discussion and bravely gave me the green light so long as I made some important disclaimers.  So that I can never be accused of skewing anyone else’s words, I am also sharing a truncated series of our email exchanges which give the most comprehensive background concerning this situation.  I hope you enjoy!

Mr. Sturmer,

I’m writing to see if you would be willing to meet with me regarding a project that I am currently apart of Drinking Water in the United States: how do we ensure a safe, sustainable, and affordable future in our communities.

I’m working on this project as part of the Emerging Leaders in Science & Society (ELISS) fellowship program. In short, ELISS is a service leadership program for graduate students hosted by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Duke is one of five partner campuses across the USA participating for 2016. More about ELISS can be found at http://www.elissfellows.org or in the attached program flyer.

ELISS2016_H2Oflyer

Our group will be presenting an overview of Triangle specific drinking water issues to individuals involved in federal water policy in Washington D.C. in June.

Next October we will be holding a local forum to discuss the same issue and we will return to DC in December 2016 to present to national stakeholders.

Our team is divided into various roles: health, environment, economic and society.

Given your view points on fluoride and water, and active role you’ve taken in this fight and against the City of Durham, I believe that your knowledge and the voices you represent would be incredibly valuable to our project.

I would be happy to buy you coffee at a location of your choosing or to come by your office for a meeting.

If you would be willing to meet, please let me know your general availability and a convenient location to meet.

Generally I’m free Mondays (1:00 – 5), Wednesdays (12:30 – 4) and Friday (all day).

I look forward to hearing back from you. Please don’t hesitate to write or call if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Justin Lana

Hi Justin,

Next monday afternoon would probably work.

I read the pamphlet and browsed the website…Before we meet however could you help me understand what you’re looking to accomplish with the meeting? My website is a good resource of information concerning my viewpoints on the issue so I’m just wondering the purpose…

Either way, let me know some time slots that work for you…noon is best for me but if that isn’t doable I can try to make it work.

Thanks,

Corey

Hi Corey,

Monday at noon works great for me. Just let me know where, and I’ll make sure I’m there on time.

I appreciate you taking the time to read over our site and our pamphlet. To answer you question: My goal for the meeting is to speak with a concerned citizen who has had experience taking up issues with the city and garnering support for your idea. I will be sure to go over all the fluoride information provided on the website before we meet. And while I’m sure I’ll have questions pertaining to the fluoride issue, I really want to learn more about your efforts involved in fighting this issues (roadblocks, avenues of support, etc.)…to learn more about what it takes to make change and where you see your efforts leading.

I hope that makes sense. If not, please let me know.
Looking forward to the meeting!

Justin

Hi Justin,

Ok, that sounds fine. You might be surprised at the information I have to share so hopefully you come prepared for that!

Why don’t we meet at ————————— which you can look up on Google maps, it’s not far from my office.

Thanks for having open ears,

Corey

Hi Justin,
Thank you for the lunch on Monday. I really enjoyed our discussion & hope you got a lot out of it.
I wanted to follow up on a couple items that I mentioned & thought you might find useful in your efforts.

1) I mentioned a WTVD news report that features me and my efforts, very fair presentment of the issue:

2) Public Health Board Meeting ended with me thrown out by a deputy sheriff –

3) Below is an email thread with one of your Duke peers which never amounted to much…but reminded me of the “forum” you mentioned as one of the possibilities with your ELISS work.
Last but not least I wanted to make you aware that I made an audio recording of our discussion on Monday.  This is something I habitually do as a journalistic practice when I give interviews or meet with people from the media for my own legal and personal protection.   I did not inform you of this at the time because I feel that the content and character of discourse changes drastically when an individual is aware that they are being recorded, and I did not want to contaminate our interaction.
I am letting you know this now because I listened to the audio recording on my way to work this morning & felt that it would be a highly valuable contribution to the fluoridation discussion if it were made available online.  Out of courtesy I wanted to know what are your thoughts about me publishing the recording accompanied by an article about our discussion?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Corey

Hi Corey,

Thanks for the email. I’m glad that you found the time to meet with me. As I mentioned on Monday, I knew your perspective would be much different than what I’ve encountered so far.
I will check out these links shortly (I’m finishing up with finals this week). I’ve read through your “conversation” with Jennifer Alspach, it’s unfortunate that nothing worked out. I’m not sure who she is or what group she was with, but it sure would have been interesting to see an actual debate take place over the issue of fluoridation.
Corey, I appreciate your informing me that our conversation was recorded; however, I don’t feel comfortable with it shared publicly at this time.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I hope you have a great time in S. Africa and the UAE. I will keep you posted on what I learn moving forward, our local forum, etc.
Thank you
Justin

Hi Justin,

I forgot to add the video of me attending the water plant. The superintendent actually gave me a tour of the whole plant but the only piece I was interested in for my purposes was the fluoridation facility.  As mentioned he says casually that it is highly corrosive.

While I’m disappointed that you aren’t comfortable with the publication of our discussion I understand and will respect that.  I want to provide you an opportunity to revisit our discussion in case this gives you reason to change your mind. I know you’re busy but I think this is highly valuable and would be good for the public to consume. You can find the recording at the link below.

I look forward to hearing about future updates on your work.

Take good care,

Corey

Hi Justin,

How are things going with your project @ ELISS? Did you get a chance to see any of my follow up items?  I was thinking about you when I was out of the country, because I noticed all the bottled water where I was had a detailed label spelling out the parts per million for several different minerals/metals and it reminded me of our discussion.

I have been playing catch up all week since I got back from South Africa & UAE. I hope you’ve been doing well.

Hi Corey,

Thank you for reaching out. I have also been out of the country (Panama) and have just started to get caught up with my work and ELISS related projects.

It was so great to get away; but coming back into ten days of disconnect from email/work is a little daunting (and I hope excuses my slow response).

ELISS is going well. We have about three weeks before our mid-year meeting in DC. I am not sure if I explained this earlier, but we’ve essentially been “scoping” drinking water issues since January. At our meeting in DC, we’ll meet with other campuses and decide what topic/issue(s)/etc. that we should focus on. I’m looking forward to hearing what the other campuses have to say about their communities as well as getting a little more direction on where we are headed.

As far as our previous discussion, I’ve gotten through the links and spent the last hour listening to our discussion. I have no problem with you posting it online, and you can keep my name attached to it if you like, but I do ask that you provide a little context in the description of where you post it. Namely 1) I’m not a water scholar or expert 2) that this was meant to be a discussion and not a formal interview 3) i was unaware of the recording during our discussion but have since agreed to its posting.

Corey, I look forward to keeping you in the loop. Keep in mind that I’ll be in the Peruvian Amazon for about ten weeks this summer, so if you don’t hear anything it doesn’t mean that I’ve forgotten about you; its just that I’m out of the loop myself or without email.

Thank you,

Justin

The above video was shot October 9, 2014.  I uploaded it the day after but did not publish it or write a follow up article because the remainder of the year was consumed by life and other, more private activism not related to Fluoridation.

However I thought it would be fitting to release it now, in lieu of a recent flurry of news reports regarding the brand new study published by the University of Kent on public water fluoridation.  If you haven’t seen – you should – the study looked at public water fluoridation as a medical intervention and its suggestively high correlation to the presence of thyroid disorders in the population.   Honestly, the study would not be so damning if we were not retrospectively evaluating the epidemiological facts 60 years AFTER Oscar Ewing, Rockefellers, ALCOA, Duke, Edward Bernays and the corporate US “PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE” did brainwash the public into loving their slow death via the sink tap.

This study consequently got MASSIVE press coverage, just see for yourself:

In my opinion, a water shed moment – but we have had them before & the City Council stupidly repeats, as Councilman Steve Schewel does in the video – that public water fluoridation is “safe and effective.”  This is despite the fact that the city has made no visceral effort to have their drugs approved by the FDA, and it looks like the FDA continue to evade evaluating Fluoride for its purported safety and effectiveness.

The publication of the study & a curious note from my Uncle compelled me to pen a letter to City Council about this, and also reminding them of this epic October 9th appearance, which you can read at the conclusion of this update.

Since we have already filed assault charges at the Durham Police Department and nothing was done, my intention here is to simply demonstrate how much the City Council has been wantonly negligent in the face of the blatantly obvious scientific dissent to their position.  Hopefully one day, this evidence can be used to bring them to justice, preferably by indictment and eventual arrest.

Happy New Year!

It has been almost four months since I last appeared before you.

If you will remember I demanded last October 9 during a council work session that the Durham County Board of Health kindly submit a formal request to the Federal Drug Administration to test/approve Hydrofluorosilicic acid for being “safe and effective” when orally ingested for the purpose of preventing tooth decay.

This request was made pursuant my understanding of the entities who have jurisdiction to regulate the use and distribution of medicinally intended substances, such as hydrofluorosilicic acid is being applied in this case.  My intention was merely to establish that if the City of Durham collectively endorses the idea of medicating their public water supply with fluoride in practice (they do), that they should at least follow the minimum proper federal laws to have the drugs approved as being safe and effective.

Of course – you very well know that I never bought into the US Health Service & academic Balogna that says drinking fluoride is safe and effective.  I know you know! Because you are apparently treating my October appearance as a “rhetorical request,” as evidenced by the total lack of follow up on my visit last year.

If I am wrong and you have submitted a request to the FDA then I will be the most pleased to hear that you have, and admit I was wrong.  But if that is the case then I would like to know when they expect to begin testing?

In the meantime Council, you might want to start taking this issue seriously because the only reason I am writing you today is due to a very recent publication in the London Telegraph which highlights a brand new study from the University of Kent on public water Fluoridation, that completely damns it!

Fluoride in drinking water may trigger depression and weight gain, warn scientists

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science/science-news/11430087/Fluoride-in-drinking-water-may-trigger-depression-and-weight-gain-warn-scientists.html
Original Study: Water Fluoridation: A Critical Review of the Physiological Effects of Ingested Fluoride
as a Public Health Intervention

Who do you think is liable if this turns out to be true Council?? Who do you think the people will blame? Which side of the fence do you honestly believe is riskier to be on?  Call me selfish but if I were you guys, I would be following the precautionary principle on this one, if for no other reason than to save my own sorry ass!

Precautionary Principle Defined

But honestly Council this damning new study is not really why I’m sharing it with you. You have already proven yourselves in battle to be impervious to even the most mainstream academic and widely accepted news sources of information that discredit the pro fluoride position. Why reverse course and do the right thing now?

It’s not like I haven’t already shared with you numerous legitimate scientific publications which should have resulted in the cessation of water fluoridation, at least since 2011.

It’s not like WTVD didn’t already daftly expose your scam in 2012 with their 7.5 minute report….

It’s not like a Deputy Sheriff did not already escort me out of the subsequent “public health board meeting” which later resulted in Durham’s re-committal to the policy of public water fluoridation….

It was something else…

A curious thing; the telegraph article was shared by my Uncle in an e-mail to me, with the subject line “Vindication.”

He says to me, before sharing the link:

“Here’s more people trying to catch up to Corey.”

The article – which you must read, is one of volumes I have read and tried desperately during the last 3+ years to share with you and/or the public.

But let me be qualify something for you.  I am not “VINDICATED” when such an article appears in the news, and adds to the pile of others I have collected which reinforce my position. I already have more than enough!

I do not like it when scientists find new evidence to suggest drinking fluoride is poisonous.

I do not get any pleasure whatsoever from speaking to you, or feeling compelled to take time off of work so I can try and warn you of the damage you are doing to the population of Durham.

I do not enjoy the social weirdness that accompanies knowing what the government is up to.

I have already read enough of these articles to KNOW that what I’m talking about is correct, so there is no vindication in a reconfirmation of something I already know.  I will ONLY feel vindicated when you collectively start living up to your oath of office, and wake up to your own slavery to the more intimidating layers of your own system

…and most of all, when you decide to STOP FLUORIDATING THE WATER.

Yours Sincerely,

Corey Sturmer

Attention Durham Against Fluoride Readers:

You are officially notified that I  will be attending the 5th Citizen’s Conference On Fluoride, in Crystal City Virginia this coming Friday – Sunday (September 5 – 7).

On this weekend it is here that activists, researchers & hundreds of other transnational truthseekers will convene to collectively raise the global awareness quotient on the most massive public health fraud in human history & certain crime against humanity; public water fluoridation.

As you can see from the agenda details below – in attendance will be a dizzying array of fascinating individuals, of differing backgrounds & from all over the planet who have contributed enormous energies to this cause.   To my estimation this means there is no more seminal a conference taking place anywhere on earth this year, for beings who want to forever unglue a core deception in eugenics based approach to Government, than this one!

Therefore I will contribute my energies in the form of attendance, with Camera & Microphone in hand, to meet, greet, interview, discuss, all the issues of the day regarding Fluoride.  If you recognize me – please don’t hesitate to approach!  I will be accompanied by compatriot Eric B, who appeared with me in a crucial 1 hour dissection of the Sociological Significance of Durham North Carolina & the “Research Triangle Park” in the mass Fluoridation scheme.  Together we will be capturing  audio/video of the different sessions as well as in-person interviews.

To fully grasp this writer’s struggle so far, one only has to browse in chronological order all the posts of this website which first originated in January 2012.

To summarize, DurhamAgainstFluoride.com was re-actively created, in a very disorganized ad-hoc way rather than in some deliberate premeditated manner.  After some self reflection I learn the core reason for this approach; I had way too much trust in my city council to rationally, objectively evaluate the evidence which I first presented to them in December 2011.  Nearly 3 years later I could have initially never imagined how deep & sinister this policy actually went. When I was summarily dismissed after presenting hardcore evidence that should make even the most dumbed down person agree Public Water Fluoridation violates the Precautionary Principle,  my soul was given no choice but to do something.  Combined with a total lack of uncompromised media made for fertile breeding grounds for resistance & this spells the basic genesis of DurhamAgainstFluoride.com

I must admit the local WTVD Channel 11 team later changed this dynamic with their mostly fair 2012 piece, featuring yours truly & entitled “How Safe is Fluoride In Our Water,” but some unknown force has made the media be largely quiet on the issue since then.

Fast forward to today, almost 3 years later & materially nothing has changed in the City of Durham.  I was forcibly removed by deputy Sheriff at one point for exposing the facts in a so-called “public health board meeting”,  a fact WTVD declined to report.  The city government with their vast stolen resources  & copious use of  the CIA plausible deniability tactic have heretofore successfully stifled my efforts to alert the unconscious public. All of this is well illustrated in my 2013 documentary “21st Century Dawes Project.

Therefore the council continues resting on its illegitimate claim to wisdom, continues buying massive quantities of fluorosilicic acid from MOSAIC fertilizer company, and charges you money to dispose of it in your tap water with or without your consent.  Meanwhile America has seen historic coal ash spills in North Carolina & epic public health crimes in West Virginia, all enumerating precisely why our local municipal governments are completely untrustworthy to manage our most precious natural resource; water.

In spirit of resisting these developments I hope to see you in Crystal City.

Past conferences

One of the most prominent Nazis, a man who helped organize the logistics for mass deportation of millions of Jews right into internment & extermination camps during the Holocaust, once stated in defense of these obvious war crimes that he could not accept a guilty charge…why?:

It was my misfortune to become entangled in these atrocities. But these misdeeds did not happen according to my wishes. It was not my wish to slay people. . . . Once again I would stress that I am guilty of having been obedient, having subordinated myself to my official duties and the obligations of war service and my oath of allegiance and my oath of office, and in addition, once the war started, there was also martial law. . . . I did not persecute Jews with avidity and passion. That is what the government did. . . . At that time obedience was demanded, just as in the future it will also be demanded of the subordinate.

-Adolf Eichmann defending his systematic genocide during his 1961 war crimes trial

In a nutshell Adolf refused to hold himself accountable & asked society to do likewise because he was simply “doing his job.”  As his subsequent execution demonstrates, “following orders” is not an adequate defense in a logical & ethically consistent society.

It is not my intention to draw any parallels between the scale of atrocities committed under Nazi Eichmann to the issue of “community water fluoridation,” but I raise this significant historical reference to help illustrate the fact that doing Wrong despite common sense, using your employment as a shield to deflect persecution, is not an adequate defense & deserves punishment.  I only wanted to preface this special report with a bold example of this very same mental disease which I have come to realize is endemic in corporate government, and in fact here in Durham North Carolina.

In this spirit I present this exclusive hidden-camera footage of Durham resident & incredibly talented sculptor, Robert Mihaly, who is depicted below filing an assault & battery charge against Tom Harden at a police substation for fluoridating the public drinking water.

If that name does not ring a bell, Tom Harden is the unassuming Superintendent of Williams Water Treatment Plant, also known as the one individual most responsible for the actual fluoridation of our water in Durham County.

Part I

Sure Tom Harden is a nice fellow & simply doing his job. But in all truth it is by Tom’s hands, and his hands alone, that the toxic waste Hydrofluorosilicic Acid  is deliberately added to Durham’s drinking water.

He chooses to do it.

The most tragic reality is that Tom would be the first to tell you that he simply does as City Council orders him to do.  I know as a matter of personal experience because Tom said almost exactly this off camera when he was kind enough to give me a tour of the water plant in 2013…

But is “just doing your job” good enough?

  • If I were to add rophenol to a female’s drink at the bar, I could go to jail for a number of different assault charges.
  • If I were a doctor & I administered medicine without informing the patient I could lose my license and/or face legal action.
  • If I inject someone with a vaccine against their consent I could be arrested for assault with a deadly weapon
  • But…If I get paid by Durham City Council to drug the water supply, that is not only allowed but somehow ethical?

Basic, elementary ethics dictate that drugging anyone against their consent & without their foreknowledge is completely wrong, no matter who is giving the orders or who is doing the deed.  Not only is community water fluoridation self evidently unethical but it also happens to be illegal under North Carolina general statutes & FDA drug laws. As we have discussed many times, it is being administered as a preventative medicine in a blanket manner through the water supply, without full disclosure or prescription & according to NC G.S. § 90-18 the CITY OF DURHAM is in direct violation of practicing medicine without a license.

This is just a stunt!

Is it?

Since the powers that be fully rolled out the national fluoridation program in the late 1950’s, a plumb 70% of American counties now add some form of fluoride to their public drinking water supplies.  For North Carolinians that percentage is more like 85% +.    In Durham County, the form of fluoride used is Hydrofluorosilicic Acid which is extracted from the wet pollution scrubbers at fertilizer mines owned by a company called MOSAIC.  This is tacitly admitted on Durham’s website!!

A little more digging gets you the material safety data sheet, from which any competent high-schooler could glean that this is not a safe material to drink.

The motivations behind such a devastating rape of a public resource as inherently ours as the air we breath, will be speculated & pondered upon for eons into the future. However valid postulating about the conspiracy might be, what is more prudent to do at this particular juncture, is to admit fully to ourselves that we already lost the hearts & minds, so we can go on changing them.

Once that reality sets in, you have to act.

I get e-mails all the time from readers who want guidance on how they can get fluoride removed in their area.  I am flattered some readers believe I have a silver bullet but if success is measured by whether your city still fluoridates the water or not, I am a complete failure!   I am always happy to give advice & share what I have learned in this experience but the 2014 reality is that despite all of my efforts since 2011, Durham has so far successfully passed the fluoride hot-potato in such a manner as to deny wrong doing, avoid prosecution,  – AND – continue fluoridating the water!

What I have learned & what I hope this video will demonstrate is that all that is required, is for each person to do something.  Follow through.  Whatever it is – it could be a conversation, an e-mail, a donation.  It doesn’t matter.

For those who want change; it is up to each and every single one of us, independently from one another, to listen to our soul & decide what it is we are inspired to do…Then to just do it!

In this unprecedented special report from DurhamAgainstFluoride.com, we officially launch our investigation to discover just what exactly the City of Durham has been doing to our tap water.

With the ongoing fracking controversy, recent chemical spill in West Virginia & now the third largest coal ash spill in North Carolina history, water quality concerns should be top of mind for every American citizen in 2014.

That is why we decided to use some of the donations our effort has accumulated to commission an independent analysis of the residual sludge left after more than 7 months of distilling the city of Durham’s municipal tap water.  We are employing the National Testing Laboratories to evaluate a sample of the liquid depicted in the video above.

For more details on what this test will be trying to determine, click here.

Our special report also explains how distillation is the ultimate method of water purification, guaranteed to remove 100% of the fluoride & other toxins that are contaminating our public tap water.

Did you just learn about fluoride & want the only method guaranteed to remove it? You’ve come to the right spot.

Stay tuned on DurhamAgainstFluoride.com for updates as we receive these revealing results from the National Testing Laboratories & report on our findings.

The Durham City Government has just announced that they will be officially receiving the recommendation from the Durham Public Health Board to continue drugging our municipal water supply this coming Thursday on September 5, 2013. Terry Capers from the City Clerk’s office recently wrote,

To: thegldnrule@gmail.com

from: Terry.Capers@durhamnc.gov

The Durham County Public Health Director Ms. Gayle Harris will present the Mayor and City Council with the Municipal Water Fluoridation recommendation at the Work Session on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 1:00 pm!

If you are interested in speaking at the Work Session regarding the item please let me know and I will inform the City Clerk’s Office of your presence.

On Friday afternoon, August 30th the September 5th Work Session agenda will be posted to our website for your convenience.

Questions please let us know.

Enjoy your Thursday!

Since we have now become experts at seeing through the tired & repetitive public health propaganda, we can accurately predict what we will hear from Gayle Harris on September 5th, 2013 and react accordingly.  It should be no surprise to anyone that Gayle Harris will say something similar if not exactly the same as was uttered by Vicki Westbrook all the way back in 2011, when I first brought this issue to the Council’s attention.

In fact, the audio recordings of Vicki are below where she said something remarkably similar to the official recommendation produced by the board of health back in June of this year, nearly 2 years later;

“Fluoridation in drinking water is again considered to be one of the primary resources for preventing tooth decay and one of the top 10 advances in Public Health that has happened since the 1900’s”

-Vicki Westbrook

Compare & Contrast Vicki’s statement from 2011 with the recommendation published in June by the board of health, after so much “diligent consideration” by the board of health & Durham City Government, which Gayle Harris will repeat to the city council on this coming Thursday:

Durham Board of Health News: “Board of Health Recommends Continued Fluoridation of Drinking Water”

“This recommendation is deemed effective for prevention of tooth decay and for promotion of good oral health by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (US-DHHS) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

If my prediction comes true, this would certainly re-confirm the pattern we have noticed since the beginning of our efforts which is to repeat the propaganda perpetrated by the U.S. Public Health Service, where the Fluoridation policy originated in the first place during the 1950’s.

You see, even after the Fluoride fraud was brilliantly exposed in 2012 by WTVD in addition to a collective 2 years protesting publicly, the sad fact is that the prognosis from the whole Durham City Government remains every bit as un-evolved as it was to begin with:

“The Government will continue to medicate the population through the water supply, without providing any scientific evidence of its benefits.”

Have they not learned anything throughout all this time?  Do the people in our city government have no critical thinking skills of their own, or will they continue to restate the federal agency’s every word like they are dog on a choker leash?

While they have surely put on a nice theater which I will elaborate on below but first we ask ourselves;

  • Is it true that the board of health is making a legitimate & well researched recommendation?
  • Have they honestly debated the subject & considered all the developments since I brought this to their attention in 2011?

Let’s review the chronology of events and judge for ourselves:

  1. December 20, 2011 I presented scientific evidence to Durham City Council that fluoride was harmful to our bones & lowers the Intelligence Quotient in Children among other things & demanded it be stopped.  Vicki Westbrook appeared preemptively to say what was quoted above.
  2. December 25, 2011 The Herald Sun & Durham City Government Dismiss the whole thing
  3. January 2012 – I create DurhamAgainstFluoride.com

  18. THIS Thursday September 5 2013 Gayle Harris will repeat the same script from the Department of Health and Human Services; We the People will repeal their recommendation because the city has still not produced any scientific evidence to substantiate their claim drinking fluoride chemicals will prevent tooth decay.

As was explained in my last post, the bureaucracy of Durham’s Government has kept the fluoride topic a real hot potato for 2 years now, passing it from one ad-hoc committee to another so as to provide the illusion that they are taking this issue seriously, but never producing any legitimate evidence to substantiate their claims.  How they can possibly still think that we are still buying this tactic any longer can only be understood by coming on Thursday to observe if my prediction about what Gayle Harris will say comes true.

Since no tangible evidence has been produced so far to substantiate their claims, and I assure you they will not be produced on Thursday, the original request which the City is trying to answer with this recommendation remains unanswered, no matter what Gayle Harris or anyone else says.  This is because the evidence which supports drinking fluoride as a means to prevent tooth decay does not exist, yet remains the basis of the continuation of the policy.

Even more troublesome is the fact that the government agent providing Thursday’s recommendation to the City Council also happens to be the individual who ordered a Sheriff to remove me from the *Public* hearing when I exposed the original fraud back in March of this year.  Talk about conflict of interest! Thanks to the wonders of youtube, we can instantly time travel to that moment when Gayle squeals “Sheriff!” as I debunk their fraud in real time:

Given all of the above, we the people will come to 101 City Hall Plaza, Durham, NC on Thursday September 5th and appeal this recommendation, restating these truths which we believe to be self evident: that medicating the city’s water supply with a corrosive waste product from the fertilizer manufacturers is an unethical, poisonous, and illegal thing to do!

Since July 3, 2013 it has been exclusively featured on the front of Durham Against Fluoride that I would be appearing at the Durham City Council “Work Session,” on July 25th where I would formally appeal the Public Board of Health’s recommendation to continue medicating our public drinking water.  To make such an appearance, citizens must first register with the city 10 days in advance in order that the council have time to review the citizen’s concern and prepare a response if needed.  For the board of health’s recent egregious error of recommending the continued medicating of our water supply, 4 citizens & myself had registered properly by the due date to protest & appeal this decision before the Durham City Council.  That is until this writer received the following unsolicited mail from the agenda coordinator, Terry Capers, who works in the Durham City Manager’s office:

I am writing to inform you that our office has received your request to address the Durham City Council about water fluoridation at its Thursday, July 25th Work Session.  This topic will be discussed at a future Work Session when the Public Health Director will be presenting recommendations to the Mayor and City Council.  The future meeting date has not been identified but our office will contact you as soon as we become aware of it.

Please be advised that this matter will not be included on the City Council’s July 25th Work Session agenda.

Feel free to contact the City Manager’s Office if you have additional questions.

Thank you!

Since I had never before heard of a city actually preventing a citizen from petitioning when he/she has correctly registered with the city to appear & be granted a meek 3 minutes – it just so happened I did have additional questions.  I quickly replied to Terry in an attempt to garnish some clarity on this strange process:

Terry,Thank you for this pivotal update.  I have two basic questions if this is the direction the City of Durham would like to go, and I would appreciate a response as soon as possible since it will have dire ramifications for how those of us opposed to this practice react to this decision:

1) What is the format of this to be announced work session?  Is it simply a reading of the recommendation already issued or will the ethics & science also be discussed among the council?

2) Will the citizenry be invited to participate in the discussion IE speak, ask questions, interact with those making the recommendations?  If so, what format is the City intending to permit?

Thank you for your answers

What ensued was a series of phone conversations with one Karmisha Wallace, an assistant to the Agenda Coordinator Terry Kapers, who together ostensibly “manage the agenda” for the city council work sessions.  I called in to get as much clarity about what was truly meant by this odd e-mail and why exactly the city would not allow the properly registered citizens to speak on public water fluoridation July 25th.

In summation of my multiple phone conversations, it was being asserted that the public health director, Gayle Harris, had not yet formally provided the recommendation to the City Council due to staff vacancies.  According to Gayle, these critical staff members were needed to perform the last edits & finishing touches on the recommendation before submitting to the Durham City Council.  Gayle said she had no intentions of appearing to present anything, only that she would be providing a written recommendation to the council.  This assertion is inherently hilarious, and an obviously false one, considering that the recommendation was formally issued on their own website June 14, here:

DURHAM, N.C. – After nearly ten months of study, the Durham County Board of Health voted unanimously Thursday evening to accept the recommendation of a water fluoridation ad hoc committee, chaired by Dr. F. Vincent Allison, to continue the fluoridation of Durham’s drinking water supply at current levels.

This recommendation is deemed effective for prevention of tooth decay and for promotion of good oral health by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (US-DHHS) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The issue originally came before the Board of Health in August 2012; after Durham City Council asked the board to investigate its merits, in order to address complaints made by a citizen of Durham that fluoride is harmful to our health and therefore fluoridation of drinking water should be discontinued.

Why it has taken more than a month for Gayle Harris and her public health fiefdom to e-mail this link to the city council members is a rhetorical question who’s answer should be obvious to anyone who is not cripplingly naive. It is ludicrous to suggest that the City Council is not aware of this subject or the details of the recommendation made by their own ad-hoc committee since I am not even an employee of the government & I was aware of it a full month before I was informed by the bluffing city manager’s office that the City Council has not yet been told.

I say so vehementaly due to the irrefutable fact that electronic communications is ubiquitous among these bureaucrats and therefore have instantaneous access to not only their own internal communications but the obvious & numerous related articles which appeared immediately before & after the public health board made their decision:

June 12, 2013: Fight against fluoride in water comes to Orange and Durham counties

June 13, 2013: OWASA (and Durham) Vote to Continue Water Fluoridation

Around the same time, my letter to the editor was published in the Herald Sun, in response to Gary Slade’s fallacious statements on this local controversy:

July 1, 2013: Fluoride, A Drug Illegally Added To Our Water

Given this context it became immediately apparent to me that this was just an effort to dissuade me and the other activists from appearing and making this whole government-theater look silly which we inevitably would do.  So I challenged Terry Caper’s e-mail by requesting to appear, despite the fact that it was not officially on the agenda, a message best described in its own words:

Terry,

I do not plan to wait for the public health director to formally present this recommendation to the mayor and city council, as these recommendations have already been publicly distributed and published on the county website.

If water fluoridation is not an agenda item tomorrow, that is ok, I would still like to speak at the council tomorrow.

Can you confirm that I will be acknowledged and allowed my time at the podium?

Thank you,

Corey

What happens next should alarm every single man woman and child in the City of Durham, as it clearly demonstrates that William Bell has apparently been declared King, King of Durham – and has the power to flip on or off the free speech of the citizens:

Hi Corey,

Tomorrow’s City Council Work Session agenda has been established and water fluoridation is not included.  It is up to the Mayor to permit individuals to speak at Council meetings, so I’m unable to confirm speakers.

I understand you spoke with Karmisha Wallace yesterday and I should let you know that Mrs. Wallace and I both work in the City Manager’s Office and on managing the City Council meeting agendas.

Have a good afternoon!

Undeterred & banking on the off-chance that the City Council would actually demonstrate some quantity of integrity, I appeared and prepared to speak exposing in 3 minutes or less why the public hearing which Durham worked so hard to produce was a total fraud & red herring.  After sitting silently for more than 1 hour, I realized that not me or any one else who signed up to appear would be called.  I subsequently left, resolving to expose this would-be King Bill Bell as soon as possible.

Incidentally, the recommendation I intended to appeal was made based on the hearing which Public Health Director Gayle Harris had me removed from, thanks to the efforts of a Durham Sherrif’s deputy, for exposing the fact that Durham medicates our water supply with a corrosive industrial byproduct called Hydrofluorosilicic Acid  – a powerful neurotoxin & carcinogen.

Like all of the government’s recent pathetic & despicable behaviors we have exposed, the idea of King of Durham William Bell having the power to permit or not permit, as he sees fit, the citizens of Durham from petitioning their government is a peak example how debased & corrupt our society has become.  To suggest that Mr. Bell has the god-like power to stifle the truth & our voice on a whim, for the sake of delaying the inevitable dirty truth about water fluoridation ever coming out, is a funny suggestion that I will soon destroy with gusto.

For starters, I will be appearing tomorrow at the Moral Monday protests to expose fluoride & will be handing out literature. I will be carrying this – so look out for me!!
